Dog-friendly family values
All of the dogs at Sunny Ridge are part of our family. That means they share our indoor and outdoor spaces with us, they go along on vacations with us, and they often fill an important niche in the sleeping arrangements (especially on those cold Colorado nights). Their health is very important to us too. All the dogs get regular grooming, exercise, and veterinary care. The daily routine for each dog includes an hour-long off-lead hike. For breeding dogs, eye, endocrine, heart, and joint health is also certified by nationally recognized veterinary specialists.
Breeding and puppies
Dogs make us happy, dogs relieve stress, dogs offer protection, and dogs fulfill a companion role that can be traced back thousands of years in human history. Golden retrievers in particular give people a sense of peace and contentment. We at Sunny Ridge believe that the world could use a little more peace and contentment. Obedience and training
All the dogs at Sunny Ridge are trained in obedience for their safety and enjoyment. Some of our dogs compete in the conformation show ring and/or in the agility ring. Some of our dogs have also been trained to hunt or to work in search and rescue. These activities are important to ensure that our dogs are happy, but also to ensure that they possess the desired characteristics of the Golden Retriever standard.
